Russ Jacobs created this interesting track work which the NGU adopted. Code 70 rail will be hand laid over these distressed ties made of skinny sticks from Michael's. (Forster brand part number 02680 -- equivalent to 3/32” x 1/4”).

Mainline minimum radius is 13”.  Mainline turnouts can be no smaller than an equivalent 13” radius. Mainline ballast is a medium gray.

There is no standard radius for branch lines

Mainline track is located on a center 3” from the front edge of the module.  The center must be maintained at least 3” from the module ends.

Bench work is constructed of 1”x 2” dimensional pine.  The foundation and backdrop is 1/4” lauan.  The base is two layers of 2” foam.

Typical module size is 14” x 48” although length and configuration may vary within the module.

The backdrop extends 16 3/4” above the bottom of  the framework.

Standards are evolving as we construct the
first few modules.
